rooms, a large procedure room, two patient education rooms, a
large reception area, two full nurses stations, Residency offices,
a large residents' room and state of the art conference facilities.

Portneuf Medical Center
Portneuf Medical Center is a not-for-profit, acute and long-term
care facility owned by the citizens of Bannock County. With approximately
1,300 employees, it is the second largest employer in Bannock
County. The organization's mission, vision and value statements
set the bar for the delivery of compassionate, quality healthcare
for every patient, regardless of their ability to pay.
Portneuf Medical Center is a
governmental, 248-bed (plus 14 NICU bassinets and 28 well baby
nursery bassinets) acute care facility and 92-bed Long Term/Transitional
care facility. Presently, acute care services are offered at two
hospital locations, the West Campus at 651 Memorial Drive and
the East Campus at 777 Hospital Way. Portneuf Medical
Center offers open-heart surgery to Southeast Idaho. Offsite hospital facilities
include an urgent care center, the Family Practice Residency Clinic,
a home health care center and hyperbaric oxygen therapy center.
Whether you need surgery, are planning for the birth of a child,
scheduling a mammogram or just needing stitches, Portneuf Medical
Center offers a comprehensive array of services. Specialty services
include MRI and CT scans, a newborn intensive care unit, cancer
treatment, a behavioral health unit and a sleep disorder center.
For 20 years the Life Flight helicopter has been providing fast,
lifesaving services to the people of Southeast Idaho. In the spring
of 2003 Portneuf Medical Center purchased a new Augusta A109E
helicopter that will allow for faster trips and even better access
to patients during flight. Within
the next 15 years, the medical center plans to consolidate acute
care services to one location. The consolidation will be made
possible by expansion and construction at the East Campus. A new
state-of-the-art medical center will create jobs, attract more
specialized medical services and physicians to the area and distinguish
Portneuf Medical Center as a tertiary center for the region.
